Ingredients
- For placing in the center of Şekerpare: hazelnuts or pistachios
- For the syrup: 3 cups of sugar
- 3–3.5 cups of water
- Optional: 1/4 cup lemon juice
Preparation
Place the traditional taste of İrem Gıda Şekerpare desserts on a greased baking tray and press a hazelnut or pistachio into the center of each one.
Preheat the oven and bake at 170°C for about 15 minutes until lightly golden. (Adjust the temperature according to your own oven.)
Remove the Şekerpare from the oven, and once they slightly cool down, pour cold syrup over them (one should be hot, the other cold).
Once the Şekerpare absorbs the syrup, it's ready to serve.
Enjoy your Şekerpare dessert in advance!
For the syrup, add 3 cups of sugar to 3–3.5 cups of water and boil for 5 minutes. Once slightly thickened, squeeze in lemon juice and boil for another couple of minutes.
Note: If you have pre-baked the Şekerpare, pour hot syrup over them.
